World University commemorated 70th Constitution Day

School of Law of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organised a function to commemorate the 70th Constitution Day. Dr. Amita Kaushal, Head, Department of Law, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. Monika Ahuja, Associate Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala specially addressed the law students on this occasion. Dr. Amita Kaushal exquisitely summed up the constitutional mandates and elaborated the importance of constitutional aspects. Dr. Amita administered the pledge of abiding by the Constitution of India to the audience present during the event. Dr. Monika Ahuja further highlighted the importance of Article 21 of Indian Constitution.

World University commemorated 70th Constitution Day

Vice Chancellor, Dr. Prit Pal Singh, congratulated the Department for organising this function on Constitution day and also motivated the students to follow the sacred ‘tenets of equality’ enshrined in the Indian constitution. Dr. R.K. Sharma, Head, University School of Law and Convener of the event, explored the basic structural aspects of the Constitution. Dr. Sunaina, In-charge, Schoool of Law and Coordinator of the event, presented vote of thanks at the end.

Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.
