On the occasion of Constitution Day, a district-level Quiz Competition was organized by District Legal Services Authority, Barnala at Y.S. College under the guidance and chairmanship of Virinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala, in which students of 161 schools; 90 Government and 71 Private schools participated. Arun Gupta, Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Lalit Kumar Singla, Ld. District Judge Family Court, Barnala, Barjinder Pal Singh, Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Barnala, Rupinder Singh, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala, Sarabjit Singh Toor, District Education Officer, Barnala also graced the occasion.

Virinder Aggarwal, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala informed that Constitution Day also known as Savidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. He said on 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26th January 1950. He added that on 18.11.2019, School level quiz competition was held on the subject of Constitution to select teams to participate in block level competition. On 23.11.2019, Block Level quiz competitions were held throughout the Block Barnala, Mehal Kalan and Sehna.

Quiz master asked questions on Constitution to students present in the audience also and students who gave correct answers were rewarded. In competition of Group A (9th and 10th Class), team of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Hamidi clinched first Position, Sarvotam Academy School Khuddi Kalan second and Government High School Tapa got consolation prize. Similarly, in competition of Group B (11th and 12th) GSSS Raisar Punjab got First Position, GSSS Pharwahi got second position and team of GSSS Moom got consolation prize. On conclusion of the competition, all the respected Judges honoured the students with trophies, who got the positions in these competitions and also distributed certificates of participation to all the participants.

Six top teams from each group, on the basis of Block Level Competition were selected to participate in District Level Competition and the teams were from Sarvotam Academy Khuddi Kalan, GHS Bhaini Fatta, GSSS Sukhpura, GHS Tapa, GSSS Chiniwal Kalan, GSSS Hamidi, in Group A as well as GSSS Pharwahi, GSSS Sekha, GSSS Sehna, GSSS Tapa, GSSS Raisar Punjab, GSSS Moom in Group B.

Principal, Teachers and Students of Y.S. College, Handiaya were presented.
