Host Patiala bagged overall trophy by pocketing 43 points of Punjab State Games For Men under – 25 concluded at Raja Bhalendra Singh Stadium, Polo Ground, here today.

Ludhiana and Jalandhar got second place with 15 points where as Bathinda has to satisfy with third place with 8  points in its account. Brahm Mohindra,Cabinet Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research & Parliamentary Affairs was the Chief Guest on the occasion and he gave away prizes to the winners. He also encouraged the participants to participate in sports activities and ensured that Punjab Government is adamant to promote sports in the state and to improve sports infrastructure in the rural area of state.

Earlier Amrit Kaur Gill, IAS, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Punjab and Director Sports, Punjab welcome the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests on the occasion. She also assured that Sports Department will cultivate sports persons and give all the support to encourage sports in the state. The former Indian Captain of Indian Team also prodded the participants to keep themselves fit physically as well as mentally for the competitions.

In 4x400m Relay Patiala won gold clocking 3:24.90mnts, Ludhiana won silver in 3:27.07mnts and Tarn Taran got bronze medal in 3:29.84mnts

Patiala clinched gold in Badminton by defeating Gurdaspur 3-1 in the finals. Ludhiana and Jalandhar were declare jointly third.

Patiala won gold in Basketball by defeating Bathinda 79-62 points where as Ludhiana got bronze medal who ousted Kapurthala 75-62.

In Boxing Patiala clinched gold by getting 16 points, Bathinda won silver with 10 points where as Amritsar got bronze with 9 points in its account.

In Kho Kho final match Patiala clinched gold by ousting Sangrur 18-14 where as Jalandhar has to struggle with Ludhiana 13-12 and won bronze.

In Football Patiala won gold by defeating Mansa 1-0 where as Hoshiarpur ousted Moga 2-1 for the bronze medal.

The Gymnastics overall team championships won by Patiala with 317.45, Ludhiana got second place with 305.80 where as Sangrur remained third with 254.90.

Jalandhar clinched gold in Hockey finals by defeating Patiala 1-0 where as Bahtinda ousted Ferozepur 3-1 for the bronze medal.

Amritsar won gold in Table Tennis by defeating Jalandhar 3-0 where as S.A.S Nagar and Ludhiana got jointly bronze medal.

In Lawn Tennis Patiala won gold by defeating Ludhiana 2-0 where as Jalandhar has to defeat Mohali 2-1 for the bronze.
