In a major reshuffle, after assuming charge in mid August, Punjabi University Vice Chancellor BS Ghuman appointed Dr Gurdip Singh Batra, Professor School of management Studies as new Dean Academic Affairs, Punjabi University from 1 Jan 2018, till further orders.
Dr Batra is replacing Dr Inderjit Singh who superannuated on 29 Dec as Dean Academic Affairs.
Dr Jaspal Singh a Professor in History Department is appointed as new Dean Research.
Dr Tara Singh of Distance Education department is new Dean Colleges.
Dr Kulbir Singh Dhillon is new Dean Students Welfare.
Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala BS Ghuman appointed Dr KS Dhillon as Dean College Development Council, Dr. Nishan Singh is now Provost, Dr Gurcharan Singh is appointed as Professor Incharge (Legal ), Dr Ravneet kaur as Additional Provost (Girls), Dr Sarbjinder Singh Professor Incahrge Publication Bureau and Dr. Paramvir Singh as Associate Dean, Alumni has extended their services till further orders. These appointments were made keeping in mind the approval from Syndicate.
About Dr Gurdip Singh Batra
Dr Batra did his Doctorate Research on Corporate Financial Reporting from College of business Administration, University of Illinois, USA. He has 35 years of experience in Education, Teaching and Research. His work is published at both national and international journals. He also guided 25 students to do their Ph.D under him.
Indian Accounting Association conferred Young Research Award on Dr Gurdip Singh Batra in lieu of his work in the field of Accounting. In 2012 Economics Growth and Research Association of India awarded him Life Time Achievement Award. In 2015 Himachal Pradesh Commerce and Management Association awarded him Management Excellence Award.
