Senior Superintendent Bathinda District Dr. Nanak Singh IPS participated in a Live Phone-in programme GALLAN CHO GALL of AIR FM BATHINDA and listened to the grievances of the listeners who called in the show and assured them to redress the same. SSP was asked why he joined the Police service after obtaining MBBS degree by paying highly subsidized fee to which he replied that his training as medico did teach him many things which come handing while carrying out his duties as a Police officer. The issue of refusal of police to file FIRs particularly of the cases of snatching etc was also highlighted and District Police Chief assured that the concerned officials will be sensitized about it and in such cases the complaint may convey his/her grievance to SSP on the Control Room phone no. 112. It was also brought to his notice that the SHOs of local police station often discourage the complainants (of snatching cases) from filing FIRs by creating a fear of cumbersome court procedures following recovery of material and try to convince them to file the DDR of lost property at Saanjh Kendra.
During the Live show Kanwaljit Singh Kuttie also assured that the Bar members will extend full cooperation to the victims of theft whose stolen material is recovered.
The SSP called upon the public to be on the side of Police and come forward to extend helping hand in curbing the crime. The afore said show was hosted by Rajeev Arora, Director, AIR FM BATHINDA
