Pankaj Mohindru honoured for his social work on Republic day

On 71st Republic Day function Vijay Inder Singla, PWD & Education Minister, Government of Punjab, India honored Dr. Pankaj Mohindru, Vice-President & Media Advisor of a Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Human Rights Care Organization (Regd.) Patiala for his excellent social work at Patiala. He received the award along with his wife Dr Pooja.
Kumar Amit, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Patiala and Mandeep Singh Sidhu, SSP were also present on the occasion.
Dr Pankaj Mohindru is a social figure of Patiala. He has passion to serve the humanity and has been associated with this social organization voluntary from a decade. His father Dr Nar Bahadur Verma, another prominent Social worker launched and established Human Rights Care Organization (Registered), Patiala in May, 2010 to serve the society. This social organization is registered with the Punjab government. It seems the chief objective of his organization is in alignment with Punjab Government through protecting the Human Rights and to bring equality in the society, freedom from violence and insecurity, freedom from social Inequality, freedom from illiteracy, freedom from Diseases and illness and above all freedom from Drug Menace.
Born and brought up in Patiala, he is son of Dr Nar Bahadur Verma. He is B.Tech & M.Tech (With Distinction) from Thapar University, Patiala. He is also an MBA & Ph.D from Punjabi University, Patiala. He is presently serving as a Faculty in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala. He is In-charge of University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) of Punjabi University, Patiala and this Centre caters the repair and maintenance of various kinds of Printers, Xerox Machines, Electronic Repairs etc to all the teaching and Non-teaching departments of University and other Neighborhood campuses situated at various location in Malwa region.
His mother Gulshan Verma is also an active member of social organization and is a guiding force to serve the poor and needy people. His wife Dr Pooja also into teaching at department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Punjabi University, Patiala is also motivating him in the social work activities.
The Human Rights Care Organization is committed to welfare and up-liftment of the poor and downtrodden sections of the society and has been undertaking a string of activities for their welfare. At present, there are 80 members of this association who come from all walks of life. It includes Doctors, Engineers, Businessmen, Officers and Retired Officers. The Association is doing its best to overcome the serious social problems like Deteriorating Environment, Female Feticide, Dowry menace, Drug Addiction, rampant bribery, violation of human rights. The Association not only intends to create awareness about the injustice being done to the women, old and poor people, it is also determined to secure justice for poor and needy people.
The Association Supplies free ration to the poor widows from last 97 months. The organization is running four sewing schools for poor girls at different locations in Patiala to empower girls by giving free sewing training.
The medical camps are organized and free medicines are distributed to the poor and needy on regular basis. Free medical treatment and operations are arranged for the poor patients with the help of best recognized doctors of the city. Maximum help is extended for the marriage of the poor girls. The stationery, woolen clothes, shoes and socks are distributed among the children of slum dwellers. Stationery is provided to the needy children studying in Govt. Schools.
Dr. Pankaj Mohindru is Chairman of Human Rights Cell, Punjab Congress and has been actively serving the Congress party from last one decade.
