PSPCL’s Guru Hargobind Thermal Plant Lehra Mohabbat observe National Safety Week

49th National Safety Week was observed at Guru Hargobind Thermal Plant (GHTP), Lehra Mohabbat from March 4 to 11, 2020 during which the employees and contractor workers of the plant were imparted training on safety and health. On the concluding day i.e. 11th March, 2020, a seminar on safety was held at the plant premises with the cooperation of Labour Welfare Department, Punjab Govt., which was attended in large number, by the officers, employees and contractor workers.
The chief guest, Er. Sahil Goyal, Asst Director/ Factories, Bathinda addressed the audience and emphasized on the need to follow safety rules meticulously so that each person and every machine is ensured to be safe.
This seminar was presided over by Er. Pardeep Singh Lotey, Dy. Chief Engineer/ O&M, GHTP, Lehra Mohabbat, who spoke at length about the importance of safety at work, warned the audience against the dangers of Corona virus and suggested ways to prevent its infection. Er. Yash Pal, Superintending Engineer told that at GHTP, all the workers and staff were provided with necessary personal protective equipment. For maintaining their good health, the hazardous materials were disposed of safely and comprehensive medical checkup was conducted regularly.

Swaraj Singh AEE and Sh. Sukhbir Singh, Labour Welfare Officer also graced the occasion. At the conclusion of the function, Er. Yash Pal honoured the Chief Guest Er. Sahil Goyal and thanked all the participants for making the celebration of National Safety Week a success.
