Punjab government is doing all tireless efforts to control the pandemic Covid 19 in the state. For this government has taken many decisions, even some harsh decision like imposing curfew in Punjab, sealing interstate borders and many more. Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is personally supervising the work. He is giving instructions on daily basis. He is even talking to the doctors, paramedic staff, to boost their morale
But authorities of Govt Rajindra Hospital’s non serious approach towards handling the situation, is a cause of concern. Govt Rajindra Hospital authorities even fail to sanitize the emergency on regular basis, not providing gloves, personal protective equipments (PPE) kits, masks, sanitizers. As per the information from the last 4-5 days, even Emergency wing of Govt Rajindra Hospital is not sanitized.
“Emergency is a one point entry for all patients. Any patient, who is ill, met with an accident is first brought to the emergency and kept their for few hours. Blood bank is also in the emergency building. Doctors, senior residents, junior residents, class –IV , other staff moves within the emergency and other parts of the hospital. If emergency is not sanitized in this crucial time, for such a long period, then all medical, paramedical staff might be spreading the virus, unknowingly “ said a doctor. The negligence creates a sense of panic among the doctors, paramedics, class IV.
Doctors on the condition of anonymity said that “the doctors, staff on duty are the first, who exposed to the Covid-19 patients are working without gloves, personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, which are the basic necessary equipment for treating such patients. Covid-19-Punjab govt doing all efforts to control; Rajindra hospital authorities’ lackadaisical approach may derail govt efforts. Even after the sanitisation of the emergency, the authorities must keep the sanitizers at the entrance of the emergency, so that who so ever enter the emergency, must use sanitizer, first.:
When contacted the Principal of the college, he said” Yes, it’s not being done, due to holidays in past. But I’ll do it today itself and sanitize the emergency. “
