Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister  Bram Shanker Jimpa today made a surprise visit at the Suwidha Kendra, Moga at local District Administrative Complex. He said that the Suwidha Kendras operating in the state are meant to provide hassle-free services to the people not to create hassle for them.

He said that the purpose of his surprise visit was to get to know the problems of the people at the grass-root level.  “I had checked Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) yesterday and Suwidha Kendra in Moga today,” he said.

He said after visiting here he’d come to know that it takes a long time for people to avail services at Suwidha Kendras.

Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh and other officials informed the minister that due to staff and other shortcomings some services are getting delayed, which will be rectified soon.

Jimpa directed the in-charge of Suwidha Kendra to ensure that people visiting Suwidha Kendra should not face any kind of hassle.  He also asked senior officers to supervise the working of Suwidha Kendra to ensure the smooth functioning of these centres.
