PSPCL prepared to supply uninterrupted power to all category of consumers with the arrival of paddy season-Grewal

With a view to provide uninterrupted power supply to the consumers for the paddy crop& summer season  in the coming days, all the power distribution transformers, lines including 11 KV lines coming under Central Zone Ludhiana have been maintained. The feeders have been repaired and set right in order.This information was given by Daljit Inder Pal Singh Grewal, Chief Engineer, PSPCL, Central Zone Ludhiana, in a statement issued to the media.

Daljit Inder Pal Singh Grewal, Chief Engineer, Ludhiana Central Zone said that due to the arrival of paddy season and summer season, pruning of tree touching lines, setting of gang operating switches, faulty jumpers / conductors / cables / dressing of cable end box , tightening of loose wires, reduction of lengthy spans by inserting additional pole etc. to  ensure uninterrupted power supply to the consumers. Major works are almost complete.

He said that power demand & consumption will be at its peak during both the seasons. He said that the little work left over would be completed by May 31. The maintaince work involved about 148 feeders and 300 transformers.
Disclosing this here today the Chief Engineer said that the department was opening an additional call center at Mohali under complaint number 1912 to attend the complaints of the consumer with introduction of feedback system to bring further improvements  in the system. This would me made operational by 1.6.2020.Chief Engineer Grewal said that complaint handling bikes have already been introduced to resolve the grievances received under the Central Zone in the shortest possible time.

                                            

These are in sufficient number. The Chief Engineer said that due to the reopening of the offices of the power department, great care would be taken for the users and staff coming in the office. Apart from this the officials posted at cash counters have been directed to wear gloves& masks, while on duty and maintain social distance. He said that coordination has also been made with the police department so that they can maintain social distancing at cash counters  during busy working days. Chief Engineer Grewal said that from the date fixed by the Punjab government during the paddy season all the agricultural consumers would be provided 8 hours power supply in three phases.
