Procurement of wheat to end soon; bring your produce to mandis-Punjab govt to farmers

The Government of India in a letter today decided to fix May 31 as the last date for procurement of wheat during Rabi season 2020-21 in Punjab.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Department said that the Government of India, Ministry of Food, New Delhi has announced the season of government procurement of wheat in the state of Punjab has been fixed from 15.04.2020 to 31.05.2020 during Rabi season 2020-21.
The spokesperson also stated that through the portal of Punjab Mandi Board this information was being disseminated to artiyas and farmers on their registered mobile numbers besides through whatsapp groups formed by field staff so that all farmers bring their produce into mandis by that time and no-one is left out.
The spokesperson stated those mandis which have not seen any wheat arrival during last some days those mandis are under process to be closed down gradually. It is worth mentioning that Punjab has already procured more than 125 Lakh MTs wheat already.
