During Lockdown due to Covid-19 BFGI has launched a ” by adopting a missionary approach under which the 2nd National Webinar on ‘Career Opportunities for Science Students’ was conducted on July 9, 2020 through Microsoft Teams. In which India’s esteemed scientist Padma Shri Prof.(Dr.) Sharad P. Kale, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Government of India, Renowned Educationist Entrepreneur Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI and B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director (Career Guidance and Counseling), BFGI guided the students as panelists. More than 9000 students from  Punjab, Rajasthan, Assam, Haryana, Manipur, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Delhi,Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra, Bihar, UP as well as Nepal attended this webinar along with their parents, principals and teachers.

On this occasion, Prof.(Dr.) Sharad P. Kale said that in today’s age of competition it is very important to get a master’s degree in science. If students want to work in the field of research, then the need for a master’s degree is more. He said that due to the effect of Covid-19, the importance of epidemiology has increased a lot and there are many scholarships available for those who want to study or do research in this field. He said that in order to take India to the forefront in the field of research, students as well as teachers and administrators of institutions need to identify the ideas and talents of the students, guiding them and providing necessary facilities. He said that there is not enough awareness among the students about the research field. He said that parents should emphasize on the need to make the student a real personality according to the aptitude test instead of making him a multi-faceted personality. Therefore, from time to time a student’s aptitude test should be mandatory to keep the student on the right track as views change according to age and circumstances. He said that students should give priority to reading books instead of mobiles. He said that science students could play a vital role in the field of environmental conservation. Sharing his experience, he said that if everyone made their house garbage free then the country could be garbage free on its own. Giving a message to the science students to stop the misuse of resources, he said that if we stop the misuse of resources then this can be a good source of our income. Answering the question of the students, he said that life sciences are very important and the field has great potential in the country and abroad.

While answering the questions asked by the students Dr.Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI said that in order to choose the right career or the right institution, it is important to know oneself. Emphasising on the need to have a positive and learning attitude, he said that it is very important to choose a career according to interests, abilities and aptitude. That is why for career guidance and counseling in the current crisis, BFGI has launched the National Career Webinar Series 2020 and a permanent career counselor is also appointed to help the students, so that it can be benefited for the students. He said there are so many career options, so it is natural for students to have a dilemma.  Aptitude Test & Career Counselor is the best way to overcome the dilemma. This is a psychological test that determines the type and quality of a student’s personality. He said that the aptitude test is available for free at BFGI’s website www.babafaridgroup.com. By knowing the student’s aptitude, only an expert counselor can advise him to choose the right career or the right institution. Sharing the points regarding the selection of the organization, he said that only an expert counselor can better explain the parameters required for the selection of the right organization. B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director (Career Guidance and Counseling), BFGI provided detailed information on ‘Career Opportunities for Science Graduate Students’ through a PowerPoint presentation. Moderator of the webinar, Madam Simranjit Kaur Sekhon told that a special national webinar on ‘Career Opportunities for Engineering Students’ would be held on July 12, 2020 in which Prof. (Dr.) Anil D.K. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi and Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, Bathinda will answer the questions.
