Bathinda Police begins registration of volunteer

Under Punjab government’s Drug Abuse Prevention Officer (DAPO) Program, the Bathinda police have started registration procedure for enrollment of volunteers fighting against the drug abuse.

Giving information in this context here today SSP Bathinda Naveen Singla stated the volunteers enrolled will be named as DAPO officers. He appealed the people who are kind hearted, serious enough and committed to work for the society to get enrolled as DAPO volunteers and give their immense contribution in society.

He said that the DAPO officers will fight at mohallas level, village, ward level against the drug abuse menace. The main motive of DAPO officers was first to identify drug addicts and then work with administration towards their de-addiction. Under this initiative of Punjab government, people aged 18 to 50 years can be enrolled as DAPO officers.

He added that registration regarding the same was going on at the outreach centers of the police stations till March 23, 2018. Those who want to enroll as the volunteers can approach these centers with an identification proof.
