Mata Sahib Kaur College organized Declamation Contest

Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa Girls College of Education Dhamo Majra,Patiala organised on Exhibition and Declamation  contest on the theme’ ‘Science and Technology for Sustainable Future’ sponsored by Punjab State Council For Science and Technology, Chandigarh  in the college campus.

The Chief Guest on this occassion was Jotinder Singh (Retd. Chief Engineer PSEB). In this Programme-20 students participated. While welcoming the Guests College Principal, Dr. Harmeet Kaur Anand said that the last decade has witnessed the emergence of an array of increasingly vibrant movements to harness Science & Technology towards sustainability.

She further added that Science and Technology are key drivers to the development of every nation but the need of the hour is to use them wisely and properly as ‘Science is a good and useful servant but it is a bad destructive master.’ She also added that for sustainable future we need to maintain a balance between Science & Technology and development.

Jotinder Singh while addressing the students elaborated the historical aspect of electric power projects and tried to correlate modernization with sustainability. He further informed the students about the latest technological innovations and asked the students to adopt these innovations in a positive way. Jaswinder Singh (Lecturer, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Shekhupura) while addressing the students tried to simplify the scientific concepts for better understanding. He further stressed on the development of practical approach towards science and technology. In the declamation contest Harmanpreet Kaur (Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa Girls College of Education, Patiala), Vibha (Khalsa College, Patiala) and Manpreet Kaur(Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa Girls College of Education, Patiala) bagged the first, second and third positions respectively. In the Teaching Aid Exhibition Sarbjeet Kaur (Asian College, Patiala) , Harmandeep Singh (Khalsa College, Patiala) and Sonia Rani (Khalsa College, Patiala) secured the first , second and third positions respectively. In the end Dr. Sarita Verma proposed the Vote of Thanks.
