NPL celebrated Guru Nanak Dev’s gurpurab by distributing road safety material

On the occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 551st Birth Anniversary, Nabha Power Limited (NPL), which operates 2×700 MW Rajpura Thermal Power Plant, organised another road safety cum COVID-19 awareness drive outside Gurdwara Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib, in Patiala, on Monday.
The drive was held in collaboration with the District Police, during which an eight-member team of NPL volunteers along with local cops distributed road safety material to promote safe road practices. More than 5000 face masks were also distributed amongst the people to help them keep safe during the COVID-19 crisis.
The drive was formally inaugurated by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sourav Jindal along with Station House Officer (SHO) of New Grain Market Police Station, Patiala, Harjinder Singh Dhillon.
NPL celebrated Guru Nanak Dev’s gurpurab by distributing road safety material. Speaking on the occasion, Jindal lauded the efforts being put in by the Nabha Power Limited to promote safe road practices and help people protect against COVID-19. He said, “These are indeed noble initiatives taken by the NPL.”
During the drive, NPL volunteers, besides distributing the road safety material along with the face masks, also made a strong appeal to the people to follow road safety norms and COVID-19 guidelines.
Chief Executive Officer of Nabha Power Limited, Athar Shahab, said, “NPL has been carrying out similar drives under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives which are is having a positive impact on various sections of the society.”
He said, “NPL is also engaged in other CSR activities in the fields of public welfare, water & sanitation rural development, skill development, health, environment, education and youth engagement for the benefit of the people.”
