Army recruitment rally-refrain from touts; avoid using drugs-Indian Army

An Army Recruitment rally has commenced at Army Public School (Primary Wing) Ground, Jalandhar Cantt for recruitment of Soldier General Duty, Soldier Technical, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical/Inventory Management, Soldier Nursing Assistant and Soldier Tradsmen categories by Recruiting Office (Headquarters), Jalandhar Cantt. This rally will screen candidates belonging to Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar and Tarn Taran Districts.

Approx 32,000 candidates will be screened from 04 January 2021 to 31 January 2021 from Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar and Tarn Taran Districts. The rally has seen good response and motivated participation from the candidates.

Candidates participating in Recruitment Rally are carrying COVID-19 asymptomatic certificate signed by doctor from a Government hospital with stamp of the doctor & hospital not more than two days old. Before entering the rally ground all candidates are going through Thermal Screening and candidates detected with flu like symptoms such as fever, cold, cough & running nose during screening are being called on the later dates. All candidates are wearing face masks, using hand sanitizers and are following Social Distancing as per Govt norms. Social distancing has been ensured at all times in the rally site.

The rally is being organized professionally with transparency and being witnessed by officials of the district administration. The candidates attending the recruitment rally here are initially being put through physical fitness tests in which they are made to run sixteen hundred meters, do pull-ups, jump across a nine feet ditch and walk across a zig-zag balance. They are then being physically examined for height, weight and chest and finally medically examined.

Candidates are advised to refrain from touts/ fraudulent persons and avoid use of drugs. Since the rally will continue for the month, candidates are advised to take due care and adhere to the advisories issued by State Government as well as from Headquarters Recruiting Zone Jalandhar against COVID-19.
