Sports University observed International Yoga Day; Yoga carnival will continue-VC

Given the current circumstances imposed on us due to Covid 19, The Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, which is running two post graduate courses for Yoga, namely, the MSc Yoga (two years course) and the Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga (a one-year course), has decided to partner itself with the Everest Yoga Institute to organise a one-month Yoga awareness and practice program which is being run in a virtual mode across the globe in over 20 countries, said Lt. Gen. J S Cheema, Vice Chancellor.
He said, “teachers, life science experts and students of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University are being brought together on a single platform to bring about awareness and facilitate the practice of yoga and general wellbeing. With over 9000 approximate subscribers, the carnival is being very well received across the globe.”

The Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University also conducted a special online yoga introduction and practice program from 15th June to June 21st, he added. This online program will gradually exhibit the practice of yoga from the basic form to more advanced forms. It would also address specific health problems and has received an encouraging response from subscribers on social media platforms. The Yoga students of the university are also conducting a week long Training course for the Defence Forces, students of Kendriya Vidyalayas and the Central Jail at Patiala, he further added.
