National level poster making competition marks World Blood Donor Day celebration at MRSPTU

Blood Donation is a great act of kindness. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) , Bathinda organized an online National Level Poster Making Competition on the theme “Significance & Benefits of Blood Donation” on the account of World Blood Donor Day. This was organized in association with the NSS unit of the MRSPTU.

More than 100 candidates from various parts of the country participated and gave their best making the event a huge success. The response of the participants was really overwhelming. The event was efficiently organized under the guidance of coordinator of event, Dr. Amit Bhatia, Associate Professor, DoPST, MRSPTU, Bathinda, by the student coordinators Shivani Pannu,  Rupali,  Shivam Bhadauria. All faculty members including Head of Department, Dr. Rahul Deshmukh, Dr. Ashish Baldi and Dr. Uttam Kumar Mandal graced the occasion with their presence.

Dr. Rahul in his remarks mentions and highlights about the University and Department and opportunities available for the students.

Dr. Ashish Baldi, Professor and Dean, Research and Development, MRSPTU graced the event and encouraged the participants to participate in blood donation without any hindrance and fear.

Dr. Meenu Arora, In-charge NSS, MRSPTU, also highlighted the importance of blood donation and emphasized to generate a database for blood donors of the university.

Dr. Amit in his address gave an overview of the event and applauded the efforts of students as well as faculty members in organizing the event.

All the poster were judged by  Simran Chaurasia,  Shilpa Thakur and  Sachin Kumar faculty members working the department.

The winners for the competition announced were:

Sanchi (Laureate Institute of Pharmacy, Himachal Pradesh) and  Parampreet Singh (MRSPTU, Bathinda) were declared as the winners of the competition.

Prince Thakur (Laureate Institute of Pharmacy, Himachal Pradesh) and  Ritika (MRSPTU Bathinda) were selected as the 1st runner up.

Nancy (Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Haryana) and  Juhi (MRSPTU, Bathinda) were declared as 2nd runner up.

Megha & Mr Parveen and  Varasha (Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Haryana).  Nivedita (GZSCCET, MRSPTU) and  Divya along with  Bedanta (MRSPTU, Bathinda) were adjudged for consolation prizes. The event was successfully concluded by taking pledge to donate blood by all participants.

Apart from Celebrating Blood Donor Day, rich tributes were also paid to Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji to mark the unparalleled martyrdom day of the great Guru.
