Khalsa College Patiala celebrated its 61st foundation day

G.S.S.D.G.S. Khalsa College Patiala has completed 61 glorious years since it’s foundation in 1960. A celebratory event was organised to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the college.

A Plantation Drive was organised in which 61 saplings were planted in the college premises, to mark 61 years of remarkable existence of the college. Kirtan of Illahi Bani was recited followed by Bhog of Sehaj Path.

Surjeet Singh Rakhra, Honorary Secretary, College Governing Body was the chief guest and Satwinder Singh Tohra, Member, College Governing Body graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

Surjeet Singh Rakhra, in his address, congratulated the college for its outstanding presence in the state. He shows his satisfaction over the past achievements of the college. He further expressed his joy on the academic upliftment and intellectual expansion of the college. He envisions a further expand of the college and wishes it to be a university.

Satwinder Singh Tohra lauded the achievements made by the college in academics, sports and cultural activities, under the able leadership of College Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha. He further expressed his elation that the college has carved a significant niche for itself. He also paid a tribute to Padamshree Dr. Khushdeva Singh and an eminent Sikh historian, Dr. Ganda Singh, for their far-sighted visionary dreams which act as the guidelines for the progression of the college.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college, while welcoming the guests said that by the grace of Almighty, the college, working under the patronage of SGPC, Sri Amritsar Sahib, has attained Star College Status – DBT, Autonomous Status and College with ‘Potential For Excellence’ statuHe congratulated the staff and students of the college on this auspicious day. He also expressed his gratitude to the alumni who have brought laurels to the college by making new strides on national and international level.
