Students of 16 regional universities to showcase their talents at Punjab State Inter University Youth Fair 2023 at GNDU

The Punjab State Inter University Youth Fair 2023 is all set to start at Guru Nanak Dev University from November 26 to 29, 2023. Jointly organized by the Department of Youth Services of the Government of Punjab and Guru Nanak Dev University, this vibrant and spirited event promises to showcase the talents of student artists from sixteen universities across the region.
Deputy Director, Youth Services, Kulwinder Singh, expressed enthusiasm for this cultural extravaganza and highlighted the significance of this festival, stating, “This gathering of student artists from various universities from all over Punjab State within Guru Nanak Dev University is a testament to the commitment and support of Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Maan, and Minister of Sports and Youth Services, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.”
The preparatory efforts for this grand event were overseen recently by the Special Chief Secretary of the Sports and Youth Services Department, Sarabjit Singh IAS, and Director of Youth Services, Harpreet Singh Sudan IAS. A high-level committee meeting, convened at the Student Welfare Department of Guru Nanak Dev University, saw the participation of directors and officials from the youth welfare departments of the 16 universities involved.
Prior to the meeting, a comprehensive discussion on the event’s programs was held between Vice Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu and the attending officials. Deputy Director of the Youth Services Department Punjab, Kulwinder Singh, chaired the meeting, which was also attended by Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, and Dr. Amandeep Singh, In charge of the Youth Welfare Department of the University.

Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi outlined the program schedule, emphasizing, “The four-day Punjab State Inter-University Youth Fair will commence on November 26 at 10 am with an energetic Bhangra performance competitions and culminate on November 29, 2023, with vibrant Gidha competition.” The festival will feature various cultural competitions, fine arts exhibitions, heritage arts displays, and theater-related contests, providing a platform for the youth to showcase their diverse talents.
