Sarpanches’ meet at Rayat Bahra Patiala Campus

PATIALA: Rayat-Bahra Group, Patiala Campus, organised a meeting of sarpanches from the nearby villages with a view to making them aware about the various scholarship schemes and other facilities available at the Rayat Bahra Patiala Campus and careers in various branches of degree or diploma courses.

The meeting was attended by over 35 sarpanches and Campus Director Dr Piush Verma, Director Principal Management Dr Neena Bansal, Prof Deepak Aggarwal, Principal of the Bahra Polytechnic College, Dr Sarita Jand, Principal of the Bahra College of Law, and Prof Harbans from Bahra College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, were present.

Campus Director Dr Piush Verma elaborated the various scholarship schemes and concessions available to meritorious, deserving and deprived students. Concessions available included 50 per cent tuition fee waiver to single girl child born to her parents, 50 per cent tuition fee waiver to child whose father is not alive, 100 per cent tuition fee waiver for students whose both parents were not alive, 25 per cent tuition fee waiver to siblings studying in Rayat Bahra Group, 25 per cent tuition fee waiver for Neighboring Development Scheme for the industry employees and their wards in various courses.

Gurwinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group, shared his vision of taking the responsibility to educate and uplift people living in the rural areas.

Principal Management Neena Bansal listed various courses available at Patiala Campus after passing 10th and 10+2 or graduation in any stream and their applicability in the job market. The different courses available at Rayat Bahra Patiala Campus included B. Tech, M. Tech, BCA, MCA, LAW (5 Yrs), B. Pharmacy and Polytechnic.

Dr. Sarita Jand, Principal Law speaking on the occasion said that apart from the 24-hour ambulance service available to all the nearby villages different camps were organized for the betterment of the neighboring community like legal knowledge camps, career counseling, and cleanliness camps.
