Fast unto death started at PSPCL; CMD, others will be responsible for any incident-DCU

Eleven members of the deceased care union, Punjab has started fast unto death at the top of the seven storey building of the Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) head office at Patiala.

Today in the morning, union has also closed all the three entrance gates of the Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) head office at Patiala and nobody is allowed to enter the office.

The kin’s of deceased were on strike from the last around two months. They were protesting against the powercom management, for not considering their demands.

The union members said “today we have closed all the entry points of the Punjab state power corporation limited head office and will not open till the state govt look into our demands.”

They further added that the power corporation is playing a game with us and are not sincerely looking onto our demands. The authorities have given us a meeting on November 12, 2021. But nothing has happened on that date. After the failure of inaction by the authorities, our team members, who were atop of the head office building has decided to start fast unto death.”

“Pawan Kumar, a daily wager of around 30 years and a resident of Bhadaur in Barnala district who is protesting against the Punjab state power corporation limited management, attempted a self immolation bid on the Diwali day, in PSPCL head office building” informed another union member.

When contacted the director administration RP Pandove, he feigned ignorance about the fast unto death started by the union members. He said the committee formed to sort out their issues has already submitted its report on the October 31, 2021 to the state government. Hopefully their issues will be sorted out, at the earliest.”

The deceased care union, Punjab has forwarded a letter to the chief minister, prime minister and Rashtrapati to solve their issue and if anything happened to them (who were on fast unto death) PSPCL CMD A Venu Prasad, director administration RP Pandove, BS Gurm, whole management of PSPCL, DC Patiala, SSP Patiala and others will be held responsible.
