GNDU Science Week Festival enters 4th day of celebration

Science Week Festival at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar entered 4th day of its celebrations. Expert lectures from Dr. Kamni Walia (ICMR, Delhi) importance of understanding the crisis of antimicrobial resistance. In address to audience, Prof. Rajneesh Arora, Ex Vice Chancellor, PTU highlighted that science helps in understanding the existence and its fundamental laws through a systematic evidence-based methodology. SciWars (Science Exhibition and Competition) & Poster Competition were the crowd pleasers. The competitions showcased students practical knowledge of students in the domain of present developments in science and technology. More than 350 people were part of the celebrations. Students coordinators Priyanka, Shagun, Rabia, Sukreeti, Pratiksha, Tania, Shiwansh abd Shivali harmonized the event. Dr. Bindiya Arora, local coordinator of the program thanked Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Vigyan Prasar, Ministry of Culture and Office of the PSA, Government of India for their support for success of the event.
On the third day, the celebration included an expert lecture by Gurvinder Singh, Group Head, Electronics Fabrication and Testing Group (EFTG)Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL), Dept. of Space (DOS). Gurvinder Singh briefed students about ISRO role and contributions in shaping India’s Modern Science & Technology. Sciwalk (Scientific Fancy Dress Competition) and VIBGYOR (Scientific Rangoli Competition) were the main attraction of the celebrations where students from various schools, colleges, and universities participated. The event were coordinated by Dr. Bindiya Arora (Local Coordinator), Department of Physics along with student coordinators Aman, Shivali, Mahinoor, Saniya Mehraj, Pratiksha and Atul.
