Hola Mohalla festival concludes with display of martial arts by Nihangs

The annual Hola Mohalla celebrations concluded at Anandpur Sahib on Saturday with religious procession (Mohalla) .
The SGPC procession, led by Panj Piaras (five beloved) started from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib after the bhog of Sri Akhand path and passed through main streets of the town before culminating back at Takht in the evening.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami also participated in the procession.
The religious procession of Nihangs started from Gurdwara Shaheedi Bagh.Attired in traditional battle gear, the Nihangs, many of whom were riding on horses, sprinkled gulal on each other and displayed martial arts skills like ‘Gatka’ throughout the route of the procession. They also displayed skills in tent pegging at other martial arts skills at Charan Ganga stadium which was witnesses by thousands of devotees.
Meanwhile,Punjab Cabinet minister Harjot Singh Bains and Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner Sonalihas thanked the devotees for extending their cooperation to the in maintaining peace during the festival and for ensuring plastic free Hola Mohalla.
Deputy commissioner also and lauded the duty performed by the government employees during festival.
