Teej Celebrated in BZSFS School Fatehgarh Sahib
Fatehgarh Sahib-The traditional festival of ‘Teej’ dedicated to the women emancipation was celebrated with fervor and gaiety at Baba Zorawar Singh Fateh Singh Senior Secondary Pubic School, Fatehgarh Sahib, in the school with new colours.
The chief guest Surinder Kaur Libra and special guests Pawanpreet Kaur Libra, Samarbir Kaur Bajwa, Paramjit Kaur, Mrinalyni Singla, Ranjit Kaur graced the occasion with their presence. The function commenced with the recitation of shabad ” Sawan Saras Mana”.They spoke on the importance of day in and congratulated everyone.
Hundreds of girl students of Baba Zorawar Singh Fateh Singh Senior Secondary Pubic School, Fatehgarh Sahib,wearing traditional Punjabi dresses, danced to the tunes of traditional Punjabi music and recited Bolian. The ‘Gidha’ performance added to the colour as the overcast sky provided the canvass to the celebrations meant to welcome ‘Savana’ the rain month, with which the festival is associated.The student expressed their joy by swinging.
The traditional delicacies of Sawan Kheer and Pakode were served on the occasion. Jasleen kaur of +1 Science was selected Miss Teej, Komalpreet Kaur of +2 Commerce B was Ist Runner Up and Harneet Kaur of +2 Commerce B was 2nd Runner Up.
