Tatkal Sewa of property registration starts in Punjab-Sarkaria

Chandigarh-  Punjab Revenue Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria today said a ‘Tatkal Sewa’ of appointment for property registration would be started across the state on Monday.

The state government has decided to impose Rs 5000 as a facilitation charge to seek appointment for Tatkal registration and one hour (9 to 10 am) has been reserved for the service. General public can seek appointment by visiting website www.revenue.punjab.gov.in, on their own and the state has also decided to make this facility available for the convenience of those people, who are not computer savvy, at Sewa Kendras soon.

This comes on the heels of the state becoming the first in the country to achieve online property registration on June 27 this year. Sarkaria said so far 1,62,410 online documents have been registered under the new system.

In order to provide respite to the public, The Additional Chief Secretary-cum-FCR  Vini Mahajan said, twenty additional dedicated Sub Registrars had been deputed at Ludhiana (East), Jalandhar (I), Amritsar, Patiala, Kharar (SAS Nagar) and some more districts.

She said that besides digital property registration and Tatkal Sewa, the Revenue department had already achieved another digital milestone with the launch of a pilot project of Revenue Court Management System (RCMS) in the Revenue Courts of Amloh (Fatehgarh Sahib). The System is integrated with land records. Under this system during the filing of a case reference will be made in “Remarks” Column of Jamabandi.

Apart from these projects, the department has also launched a “Digital Mapping” pilot project to demarcate land boundaries in two villages- Mundi Kharar and Harlalpur- of SAS Nagar (Mohali). The digital map shows very clearly the Mustil Line, Killa Line, Mustil Number, Killa Number, Reference Line, Saheda and Pillars. This project will help land owners to find their lands easily. Similarly, under Online Land Records, 164 Fard Kendras are operationalized and approximately 1.90 crore Fards are being issued from these Fard Kendras.
