Gurpreet Kaur wins bronze medals in three events at National Masters Athletics Championship

Gurpreet Kaur of village Hussainpur near Rupnagar has won bronze medals in the National Masters Athletics Championship in 30 plus age group category, in 800 meters 1500 meters and 5000 meters events ,held in Chennai.
On the arrival at Rupnagar Gurpreet Kaur ,local MLA Dinesh Chadha led the residents at the railway station to accord warm welcome and congratulated Gurpreet Kaur and her family on their achievements.
It may be mentioned that Gurpreet Kaur was born in village Sakrulapur on January 13,1988 to father Manjit Singh and mother Charanjit Kaur. Her parents died in her infancy.
Gurpreet Kaur studied up to 12th standard and in 2009 she got married to Gurpreet Singh son of Comrade Tarlochan Singh of village Hussainpur. Considering Gurpreet Kaur’s interest in education, her in-laws, who are progressive thinkers, encouraged her to complete BA, B.Ed, B.P.Ed. and M.A. (history) study. Gurpreet Kaur was encouraged by her in-laws to become an athlete due to which she achieved this feat.
