Health Infrastructure in Public Sector to witness Major Changes in Coming Days: Jauramajra

Health Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra visited District Civil Hospital Nawanshahr and Sub Division Hospital Balachaur, Tuesday .

The minister took stock of the healthcare services being provided to the general public in the district.

While inspecting the arrangements made for the provision of health services in various departments of the district hospital including OPD, IPD, General Ward, Maternity Ward, Emergency Ward and OOAT Center, the Health Minister also enquired about the well being of the patients admitted in different wards of the hospital and asked about the free health services being provided to them.

As the patients  expressed satisfaction over the treatment given here , the minister  said that the people of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district have expressed their confidence in the health facilities being provided by the district health department ,the minister assured that the health department would further improve the healthcare services .

While interacting with the local media, Health Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that the launch of Mohalla Clinics in 117 Assembly constituencies of Punjab by Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government on August 15 would be a major leap forward in the health sector of Punjab.  He said that major improvements in the health infrastructure would be made to provide better health care facilities to the people at their  doorsteps. He further said that he was visiting the health facilities of the state to understand the needs of the people so that necessary arrangements could be made in the health facilities in a timely manner.

Meanwhile, the Health Minister interacted with the top officials of the health department and sought details of the required medical equipment and vacancies of medical and para medical staff in the hospitals. He said that the vacancies in the government health institutions would be filled up soon and the shortage of medical equipment would also be made up.

Minister Jauramajra asked the hospital management to pay special attention to 24-hour emergency services, availability of medicines besides focusing on hygiene.  He said that they should ensure cleanliness of hospitals in the same way as they ensure cleanliness of their homes.  He said that no patient in government health facilities should be itchy.  Providing quality health services to the people in a timely manner should always be a priority so that they do not face any difficulty, added the Minister.

He further said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhgawant Mann was making great efforts to provide better and comprehensive healthcare services to the people.  He said that the objective of our government to provide better health facilities would be achieved only when people could easily get world class health facilities, complete medicines, all necessary tests and other services in government hospitals near their homes.
