Punjab officers up the ante against senior IAS officer for his stubborn behavior; complaint to minister

In a surprise move, engineers of Punjab water resources department’s Drainage circle, Amritsar, has complain the minister about the stubborn behavior of the senior IAS officer, Krishan Kumar, principal secretary of the department. The staff has sent a complaint letter to the minister, signed by the officers of the department with an ultimatum that if their demands are not met by July 14,2022, they will go for a pen down strike from July 15,2022. A copy of the letter has also been forwarded to the chief minister, chief engineer (headquarter), water resources, Punjab.
In their complaint to the minister, the Amritsar Drainage circle staff has alleged that the principal secretary is using derogatory remarks, words in the official meetings and is mentally harassing the engineers, staff.
The staff has alleged that if any officer gave any suggestions, the senior IAS officer takes it personally and especially harasses that officer in his day to day working.
The principal secretary is behaving in a dictatorial way and issuing charge sheets, suspension orders overlooking the procedure, rules. He is leveling false allegations of corruption against the officers. This is damaging their image in the society. He is creating terror in their life by leveling false allegations.
The engineers added that most of them were recruited in 2010. Some of the engineer are still on their probation period . The principal secretary is leveling allegations of corruptions against these officers, which is humiliating for them.
Principal Secretary is demanding irrelevant reports, which is time consuming and they are not able to go to field even in this rainy season when flood threat continues to loom over the region.
An officer on the condition of anonymity said the principal secretary has already suspended two SEs of the department. He even extended the probation period of four SEs of the department, overruling the rules and regulations. He further added, in coming days other circles, wings of the department may also forward similar complaint to the minister against the behavior of principal secretary.
