Secretary public relations transferred once again; third in six months of AAP govt in Punjab

Today, Punjab government has issue a transfer orders of secretary, public relations Gurkirat Kirpal Singh and posted another senior bureaucrat Rahul Bhandari as the new principal secretary public relations, Punjab government. This is for the third time that an all important secretary, information and public relations department has been transferred in the six month tenure of aam admi party (AAP) in Punjab.
Now, Rahul Bhandari is the new principal secretary technical education & industrial training and in addition principal secretary food, civil supplies, in addition principal secretary civil aviation and in addition principal secretary information and public relations department.
The strange thing in today’s Punjab government orders issued by the chief secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua is that state government has rendered Gurkirat Kirpal Singh without any charge/ department. He is one to the powerful bureaucrat of Punjab and this type of treatment has raised everyone’s eyebrow. Before being transferred today, he was holding the charge of principal secretary food, civil supplies, in addition principal secretary civil aviation and in addition principal secretary information and public relations department.
Prior to Gurkirat Kirpal Singh,Malwinder Singh Jaggi a 2005 batch IAS was appointed Secretary, Information and Public Relations in April 2022. But, MS Jaggi was transferred on June 3,2022 , after the murder of Shubhdeep Singh alis Sidhu Moosewala on May 29,2022. Gurkirat Kirpal Singh was given the additional charge of Secretary, PR department .
When, the aam admi party formed government in Punjab after their clandestine victory in the Feb 2022 assembly election, KK Yadav (IAS) was holding the charge of secretary, Information and Public Relations, Punjab at that time. He was transferred on April 16, 2022 and posted as Taxation commissioner, Punjab and MS Jaggi was appointed the new secretary, who assumed charge on April,18,2022.
Public Relation is a most important wing of and state Government. Through it government take the basic information and gather views of the public before framing any policies and schemes. After framing any policies and scheme, the next step is implementation in which Public Relation plays a very crucial role. Government use public relation as a tool for spreading information and awareness about every schemes and policies in between the citizens of the country. Public relation create a positive and strong bonding between the government and public.
