Thapar University conducted Academic Prize Distribution Function

Academic Prize distribution was held at Thapar University. Dr Prakash Gopalan distributed the medals and prizes to the students who have shown excellent academic performance during last year. In all, 163 students received medals and prizes which include 95 boys and 68 girls.67 students have won the medal in 2016-17 and out of these 35 medals have won by boys and 32 medals have won by girls.

Ranveer Singh S/o Avtaar Singh, a first year B. E. (Computer Engineering) student of Thapar University, Patiala became the first recipient of the I M Thapar scholarship. The scholarship is an effort of the KCT group Trust, which is a subsidiary of the Karam Chand Thapar and Brothers, based out of Kolkata, and shall be awarded every year to a student pursuing engineering education at Thapar University.

Speaking during the award ceremony, V. K. Arora, Chief Mentor, Karam Chand Thapar and Brothers, congratulated the boy on his achievement and exhorted the boy to do well in future. He commended the university for supporting meritorious and needy students in pursuance of their academic career and extended his full support to the University.

During his address, Prof. Prakash Gopalan, Director, Thapar University, also complimented the winners and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
