Today, D-Day for foodgrain procurement agencies; clerk to deputy director’s to stage massive protest

Today, all the staff from clerk to inspector , to officers, to district heads to deputy directors from all over Punjab, head offices of foodgrain procurement agencies namely PUNGRAIN, MARKFED, PUNSUP and Punjab State warehousing Corporation (PSWC) are going to stage a massive protest outside “Anaj Bhawan” at Chandigarh .

Confirming the same, an officer said “ yes, we all the staff, means all the staff from clerk to deputy director are going to stage a massive protest. This is for the first time that whole Punjab (foodgrain procurement agencies) staff is protesting for one cause- high handedness of state vigilance bureau. Moreover, a widespread feeling of officers of the foodgrain procurement agencies and employees of this sector that their efforts and achievements have never been given deserved recognition and appreciation. Still, they have been working to their fullest potential and capacity and the sector has been touching new heights and the staff is being rewarded with FIRs, cases.”

All the officers of foodgrain procurement agencies of Punjab posted at head offices, divisional offices , district offices, inspectors are already on on mass strike, leave against  the highhandedness of vigilance bureau in registering irrelevant  FIRs against the officers of foodgrain procurement agencies.

The ‘Confederation of Officers of Punjab Foodgrain Agencies” had also staged a protest on November 24,2022, outside “Anaj Bhawan” , Chandigarh against the series of extraneous FIRs lodged by the vigilance bureau, Punjab.

Punjab Foodgrain Agencies are demanding the cancellation of all FIRs in tendering process be cancelled immediately, No new FIR should be lodged, No officer should be nominated in the FIRs, No FIR should be lodged on the basis of mere suspicion, any other complaint received by the VB should be sent to the department, enquiry into wooden carets be done by the departmental officers and if found any discrepancies than it should be investigated by the vigilance bureau.
