Vigilance bureau reaches Bharat Inder Chahal’s doorstep

As per sources, once again the sleuths of Punjab vigilance bureau probing corruption charges against former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s adviser Bharat Inder Singh Chahal reached his Alcazar Marriage Palace on Patiala-Sirhind Road today to ascertain the value of the property. A team of around 14-15 officers from Chandigarh reached at the marriage palace and start measuring the property since morning.
The Alcazar was inaugurated in 2018 by the then chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh. The property is under scanner after vigilance bureau had opened a formal inquiry against Chahal in a disproportionate assets case.
The vigilance bureau team has already measured the five-story shopping complex near mini secretariat, Patiala ,in December 2022. The building has a banquet hall, showrooms and a private bank.
Vigilance bureau has already issues summons to him to appear before the department officials at Patiala office. But, Chahal is still at large.
The anti corruption wing of the Punjab government had also pasted the notice at Bharat Inder Chahal’s Patiala residence, at his marriage palace Alcazar.
Meanwhile, the vigilance officials are tight lipped over their today’s action.
