Punjab DGP’s launch awareness drive for students from Chitkara Uni

The Punjab Police and STF (Special Task Force) has made an innovative plan  to curb the drug menace  amongst the youngsters. They initiated a plan in which school, college and university students will be appraised the ill effects of drug abuse.

Director General of Police (DGP) Suresh Arora, DGP (STF) Muhammad Mustafa and DGP (Law and Order) Hardeep Singh Dhillon launched the programme at Chitkara University in Rajpua, in which students, faculty of Chitkara University participated.

Divulging the details of the program, police officers said cultural troupes of Punjab Police, STF would visit the school, college, universities and make the students aware of the harmful effects of drugs.

Additional Chief Secretary NS Kalsi along with ADGP Ishwar Chander, IG (STF) Parmod Ban, IG (Patiala) AS Rai, DC Patiala Kumar Amit , SSP Patiala Mandip Singh Sidhu, DSP Rajpura Krishan Kumar Panthey were also present on the occasion. Madhu Chitkara , Vice Chancellor of Chitkara university welcomed the dignitaries .

While speaking to the students, Kalsi said “Students must stay away from the issues that harm society, including drugs.”

DGP Arora said the government was serious and committed t wipe out the menace of drugs abuse from the state. “We have already broken the supply chain of drugs in the state. Now we have started the buddy and Drug Abuse Prevention Officer (DAPO)programmes to keep youngsters away from the drug abuse and decrease the demands for drugs.”

Madhu Chitkara , Vice Chancellor of Chitkara university welcomed the dignitaries .
