Punjab govt orders DCs to do wardbandi of Gram Panchayats

Punjab rural development department has asked all the deputy commissioners to do the wardbandi of all the gram panchayats of the state, as the upcoming elections are being conducted through wardbandi for the first time. The election of sarpanches would be held in 13,080 gram panchayats and for panches in 81,412 wards of villages. They would be elected through direct election.
