It was a morning full of sport for Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala as it celebrated its three-day “Annual Sports Meet” from 26th to 28th October 2017.The function was presided over by Ms. Nanki Singh, Trustee, Saraswati  Vidyak Trust and Vice President, Managing Committee; and Dr. Gurbinder Singh, Member, Managing Committee and Registrar, Thapar University Patiala.

The school campus was professionally organized with chalk marking for all races from 100 meters to 400 meters and relay’s, football, kho-kho and table tennis etc. The students of Mayfair Nursery School also participated in Cycle Race, Ball Race and Pom-Pom Race.

The podium for prize distribution was kept center stage and the medals this year took a leap in standard, making them the best sports medals for schools in the country.

The school band in their smart uniforms gave a warm welcome march past to the distinguished guests which included parents of Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala. They were escorted by the Principal, Tripatjit Kaur, and Vice Principal, Manpreet Sharma, to the beautiful lush green grounds of the school where the function was organized.

The function began with the ceremonial unfurling of the school flag by Ms. Nanki Singh and Dr. Gurbinder Singh escorted by the Principal. Letting off multi-coloured balloons presented a beautiful sight. The students and the audience regaled with Gatka, Rhythmic Gymnastics during the opening event.

The occasion was a combination of different sports, dance, music and Rhythmic Gymnastics. The young ones of the school had a gala time taking part in various sports activities.

Dr. Gurbinder Singh on behalf of the Management of the school gave an encouraging speech to the students at the close of the event, followed by a vote of thanks by the Principal.

This is a hallmark for Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala where for the first time parents of each student attended the final event on 28th October, 2017.

The function ended with the National Anthem sung by one and all. The function was a great success as the parents and the students enjoyed it very much.
