World University celebrates the festival of Lohri and Maghi

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib celebrated the festival of Lohri and Maghi with much fervour and enthusiasm in the campus. Dr. Sikander Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare welcomed the guests to the event. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Prit Pal Singh lit the bonfire and duscussed the immortals of these festivals.
Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs said that the University is dedicating this year’s Lohri and Maghi celebrations to the newly wedded faculty members and those who were blessed with a child in the year gone by. To mark the occasion and to keep up with the festive spirit of Lohri, the students of the Department of English and Education organized various cultural activities. The University staff enjoyed Gidha, musical performances and tappe while savouring the offerings of ‘Mungfali, Gachak and Reodi’.
