ADM Patiala ordered arm licence holders to deposit their weapons

Patiala’s additional district magistrate has ordered all the licence-holders of firearms in the district to deposit their weapons (arms and ammunition) at the nearest police stations in view of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The public has been asked to deposit their weapons by March 22,2024 positively. Penal action would be initiated against those who do not comply, and their weapons would be seized.
Firearm licence holders have two options to deposit weapons and cartridges. The first is to deposit them with the police station of their area. After depositing the weapon, they are given a documentary proof. At police stations, the weapons are kept in the malkhana, where seized or recovered stuff is also kept.
