Rupnagar police arrest three accused of robbing a shopkeeper and snatching revolver

Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana, while giving information during a press conference said that, the district police arrested three members of the gang who robbed a shopkeeper at Nurpur Bedi within 24 hours.
While disclosing more in this regard Gulneet Singh Khurana stated that Manoj Kumar Joshi, a resident of Nurpur Bedi, who runs a confectionery and mobile phone shop at Bhaddi Road. On March 26, 2024 at around 10:30 pm, when he went inside the shop to close it, around 4-5 persons, whose faces were covered, rushed into his shop and two persons attacked on him with blunt weapon. They took away his .22 bore license revolver and also looted Rs.19,500 from his shop.
He said that on the basis of Manoj Kumar Joshi’s statement, teams of CIA in charge Rupnagar Manphool Singh and S.H.O Nurpurbedi Harsh Gautam were formed to arrest the persons who carried out the incident and a case under section 323, 458, 397 of IPC was registered.
He further said that police teams had investigated the case in a scientific and technical manner under which three members of this gang including Jagdeep Singh alias Babbu Bajwa resident of Rahon, Jaskiran Singh alias Jassa resident of Rotan Mohalla Rahon and Jaskaran Singh resident of Rahon were arrested while two accused were still at large and raids are being conducted to nab them.
SSP said that this conspiracy was hatched by this gang after returning from Hola Mohalla and .22 bore licensed revolver and Alto car PB 32V 7376 used in the incident have been recovered from them.

He said that the leader of this gang is Jagdeep Singh alias Babbu Bajwa, who is a professional criminal and has previous cases of robbery and murder. Arrested persons were being interrogated, from whom more important revelations are expected.
