Punjabi University’s Political Sciences department organizes Prof Arshi Khan’s lecture

Today on 16th of May 2024,Department of Political Science, Punjabi University, Patiala organized a lecture by Professor Arshi Khan, Department of Political Science Aligarh Muslim University, on the topic “Security, Freedom and Peace: Israel- Palestine Context”.
On this occasion, Head of the Department Dr. Paramjit kaur Gill welcomed all the guests and all the participants. She talked about the nature of modern nation-state and structural situation and its impact on South Asia as its sufferer.
She talked about the hard border concept and capitalist powers and modern state’s concept on south asia and its bad impacts on this region including middle east, Israel and Palestine. After that Professor Arshi Khan delivered his lecture on the said topic.
He talked about different theories of State and overall purpose of the states in terms of concepts like freedom, Peace, Security in Modern time especially in Israel Palestine conflict.
He talked about The Crises of Leadership, crises of Democracy and crises of Humanity. He talked about India’s silence on the international stage on these issues issues. He said that India claimed as a leader of global south but India is silent on the Israel, Palestine matter.
He told that Palestine people are living from thousands of years on their land and from last hundred years they are struggling for their motherland.
On this Occasion, Dr. Gurjeet Pal Singh, Dr. Pooja Sharma, Dr. Harsangeet Pal kaur, Dr. Inderjit Singh, Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Dr. Jarnail Singh, and Dr. Amandeep Kaur and all the research scholars of the department were present there.
