Tributes Paid to Maharaja Ranjit Singh on His 185th Death Anniversary at MRSPTU

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, honors the Legacy of the Great Sikh Emperor Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

MRSPTU  commemorated the 185th death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh today with a solemn ceremony.

MRSPTU Registrar Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, faculty, and staff paid homage to Maharaja Ranjit Singh, famously known as the ‘Sher-E-Punjab’ (Lion of Punjab), by offering floral tributes.

Dr. Brar spoke about Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s enduring ideals and recounting his illustrious reign over the Northwest Indian subcontinent in the early 19th century.

Born on November 13, 1780, in Gujranwala (now in Pakistan), Maharaja Ranjit Singh passed away on June 29, 1839, in Lahore, leaving behind a profound legacy of unity and leadership.

Dr. Brar also expressed gratitude to the Punjab government for establishing a university in Malwa named after Maharaja Ranjit Singh, underscoring its role in preserving the memory and contributions of this revered Sikh emperor.
