PPSC chairman Aulakh refutes allegation of paper leak; recommended inquiry to investigate the allegations of bribery

Jatinder Singh Aulakh, Chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), has addressed allegations regarding the recent examination for the recruitment of Agriculture Development Officers conducted on June 30, 2024.
An educational coach associated with AGRIMENTORS, Chandigarh, posted a video on YouTube on the same day, alleging, without any proof, that the examination paper had been leaked beforehand. Additionally, certain allegations were circulated in electronic and print media, claiming that a bribe of Rs. 32 lakhs was accepted by a senior officer of the State’s Agriculture Department.
Chairman Jatinder Singh Aulakh stated that an internal fact-finding investigation has revealed that no officer from the State Agriculture Department was involved in the examination process conducted by the PPSC. The Commission, under his leadership, maintains that it has conducted all examinations with the utmost fairness and transparency. Comprehensive verification, including videographic and written records, confirms that every possible measure was taken to ensure the examination process was just and secure.
Contrary to the allegations, no candidate had access to the question paper before the exam, and no candidate was allowed to enter any examination center after the start of the examination at 11:00 a.m.
Jatinder Singh Aulakh emphasized that the Commission diligently followed all guidelines and norms. The use of biometric machines, 5G jammers at every center, and the deployment of DFMD and HHMD by security personnel for thorough frisking ensured the process was foolproof.
Chairman PPSC further stated that it appears these baseless allegations were made with the intent to tarnish the reputation of this Constitutional Body, which operates with efficiency and meticulousness. He assured and re-emphasized with utmost certainty and full responsibility that the paper was not leaked by the PPSC. A strict inquiry is being recommended to the State to investigate the allegations of bribery. Should these allegations prove false, strict legal action will be taken against those attempting to create distrust among the public.
