Elite class defaces ‘Baradari Garden’ ; MC Patiala yet to take action

Patiala’s prestigious club Rajindra Gymkhana and Mahindra Club have announced its general elections for October 19, 2024.
The elite club has around 3K members. The elite class of the Royal City is going to elect their one general secretary and seven executive members on October 19,2024 through voting.
Before the D day, the members of repute have defaced the Baradari Garden with illegal hoardings. The roads leading to Gymkahana Club from Sheranwala gate, Leela Bhawan are dotted with illegal hoardings of members contesting the elections.
These so called educated, law abiding members have put up their hoardings appealing for votes on polls, tress, boundary walls, garden fencing mesh, thus defacing the Baradari garden.
“RGMC has a vast open area inside the club, a good parking space, lush green gardens. The members should put up their hoardings, publicity material, appeal inside the club premises. When the club management is not defacing, allowing its own member to put up banners hoardings inside the club premises, who allowed them to deface the city roads? The MC must issue challan to the violators to set a trend rather then just removing them “ said Sumit, a city resident and a morning walker inside the Baradari garden.
A club member on the condition of anonymity said ” this year the hoardings were put up by only few members as the elections are going to held to elect only seven executive member and one general secretary. Earlier, when the elections were held to elect whole 12 members, the Baradari Gardens were choked with hoardings.”
Elite class defaces ‘Baradari Garden’ ; MC Patiala yet to take action. When contacted the commissioner Municipal corporation Patiala Rajat Oberoi he said ” he is in an important meeting and will be free by noon.”
When contacted the land branch superintendent of municipal corporation, Patiala, “ he said, these are illegal hoardings and we are surely going to remove these at the earliest.”
