The 80th Annual General Meeting of the Punjab & Chandigarh State Centre of the Institution of Engineers (India) was held on 19.10.2024 in the premises of the Institution of Engineers (India), Madhya Marg, Sector 19-A, Chandigarh.
Prof. (Dr.) Sarabjeet Singh Bedi, Director, Directorate of International Relations, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly was the “Chief Guest”.
Er. Jaskamal Singh Bhogal, Factory Head, Kandhari Beverages Pvt. Ltd.was the “Guest of Honour”.
Dr. Labh Singh FIE, Chairman, IEI Punjab & Chandigarh State Centre welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Corporate Members, Fellow engineers of State Centre and members of the press. He also expressed his deep gratitude and thanks to all the members of the State Centre Committee who stood by him during the Session 2022-2024.
The New Chairman Prof. (Dr.) Baljit Singh Khehra and Honorary Secretary Er. Karnail Singh and newly elected State Centre Committee for the Session 2024-2026 were also installed. Er. Sukhvir Singh Mundi elected as “Council Member IEI” representing Punjab State for the Session 2024-2028.
Prof. (Dr.) Baljit Singh Khehra, Chairman also addressed the gathering.
On this occasion, Keynote Speaker Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Banga, Director (Quality Education), Rayat Bahra University, Mohali (Punjab) delivered 25th A.S. Sekhon Memorial Lecture in the memory of Engineer A. S. Sekhon who was an eminent and renowned Engineering personality of Punjab Irrigation Department. He contributed a lot not only for engineering fraternity but also for this State Centre. He was very active member of the Council of Institution of Engineers (India) for a number of years. He was respected and regarded at the highest level for his vision, contributed ideas and futuristic planning in various fields of Engineering.
6th Mundi Sukh Vir Singh Award was awarded to Sanjay Kumar Singhal, AMIE Topper in Section B (Winter-2022) consisting of Rs. 10,000/- and Certificate of Merit.
Scroll of Honour were also distributed to Distinguished AMIE Graduate Engineers during this occasion.
The Outgoing Chairman Dr. Labh Singh and Honorary Secretary, Er. Swinder Singh were also honored during AGM.
Chief Guest and Guest of Honour also addressed the gathering. Er. Karnail Singh FIE, Honorary Secretary proposed a vote of thanks to all.
About 150 Engineers, Guests and Students attended the function.
