2K students enthusiastically showed their creative skills at mega On-the-Spot Painting Competition organised by Modern School

As part of its all-round and value based education program, Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala, celebrated Children’s Day with their annual mega On-the-Spot ‘Open’ Painting Competition on 13 November 2024, at the sprawling School grounds. Each year, this competition is open to all children of Patiala from 2.5 to 21 years of age. This year, there were almost 2,000 children, from 26 schools, who enthusiastically showed their creative skills.

The participants were divided into five different age categories. Each category had four hours to paint on selected themes like – Artificial Intelligence, Climate Change, Emotions in Color, A Moment in the Sport you Love, Your Self-portrait, Painting the Sea World – on full-size chart papers provided by Modern School. The tiny tots painted on topics – My Favourite Toy and Multi-coloured Vibrant Flowers – on half-sized chart paper. The Chief Guest was Christine Grimmer, who is a visiting faculty from Australia, and is currently teaching ‘Spoken English’ to the students of Modern School, Patiala.

 

The winners were Shaurya Varshan of Mount Litera Zee School, Patiala from Category-A, Gurnoor Singh of Shivalik Public School, Patiala from Category-B, Samridhi, Maninder Singh and Koushika Mishra of Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala from Category-C, D and E respectively.

The top 3 winners in each category were awarded cups and certificates. 30 students were awarded Certificates of Merit, and participants were presented with a Participation Certificate.

It was a fun-filled, colourful morning for everybody who was there, a perfect celebration of Children’s Day 2024.
