AAP announces 4, BJP announces 3 candidates from Punjab

As announced by Punjab chief minister, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday released a list of 4 candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Punjab. AAP party’s Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar to contest from Ferozpur, Amansher Singh (Shery Kalsi) from Gurdaspur, Pawan Kumar Tinu from Jalandhar and Ashok Parashar Pappi from Ludhiana. CM had earlier announced that the party will announce its candidates on April 16,2024.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday announced seven more candidates for Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to begin with its first of the seven phases on April 19. The saffron party has announced 3 candidates from Punjab namely Manjeet Singh Manna Miawind from Khadoor Sahib, Anita Som Parkash from Hoshiarpur (SC)and Parampal Kaur Sidhu, IAS (Retd.) from Bathinda.
The Lok Sabha polls in Punjab will be held in a single phase on June 1 for 13 seats. Of the 13 seats, four are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and the remaining nine for unreserved.
