AAP has announced all the five candidates for Rajya Sabha.  Sanjeev Arora, an industrialist is the last candidate whose name is announced by the aam admi party. Sanjeev Arora is Chairman cum Managing Director of Ritesh Properties and Industries Ltd (RPIL) is a leading company with business interests in Real Estate & Fashion Industry in Ludhiana.

Earlier AAP has cleared the names of cricketer Harbhajan Singh “Bhajji”, AAP MLA from Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi, Raghav Chadha.

Aam Aadmi Party on Monday named Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, Ashok Kumar Mittal as nominee to Rajya Sabha.

Earlier the party has named Sandeep Pathak, an assistant professor at IIT-Delhi, has been strategising for AAP for years and laid the groundwork for its stupendous recent victory. A PhD from Cambridge University, Pathak is well known as a backroom boy in Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s team. Kejriwal today thanked Pathak for the Punjab win and hailed his contribution as a political strategist and campaign designer.

Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will file nomination as an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls today. Elections to fill 13 Rajya Sabha seats across six states falling vacant in April are scheduled to be held on March 31. MPs from Assam (two), Himachal (one), Kerala (three), Nagaland (one) and Tripura (one) are retiring on April 2, while five members from Punjab are retiring on April 9.

AAP finalises all five Rajya Sabha candidates from Punjab. All the five Punjab seats will go to the Aam Aadmi Party which swept the elections winning 92 of the 117 seats in the Assembly.

The members who completed their term in the Rajya Sabha of Punjab are Pratap Singh Bajwa and Shamsher Singh Dulo from Congress, Sukh Dev Singh Dhindsa and Naresh Gujral from Akali Dal. Along with this, a member of BJP is also involved. Along with this, the term of two other members will be completed in July and both these seats can also go to AAP’s account. Elections to two Rajya Sabha seats in Punjab are to be held in July. Aam Aadmi Party can win both these seats. In this way, the Aam Aadmi Party can win 7 Rajya Sabha seats from Punjab by the end of July and then the number of AAP members in the Rajya Sabha can be ten, with three members nominated from Delhi Sanjay Singh, Sushil Gupta and N. D. Gupta.
