Aasra foundation celebrates World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the members of Aasra Foundation (Regd.) Sri Anandpur Sahib organised a plant langar at the local Gurdwara Mithasar Sahib, during which about 200 different types of plants were distributed.
Baba Bhagat Singh, Chief Manager, Gurdwara Mithasar Sahib, while lauding the efforts of the youth, said that there was a great need for such initiatives in the present times. He lauded the efforts of Aasra foundation for bringing an awareness among the local residents.

On this occasion, Aasra Foundation’s President Naveen Kumar, Vice President Harsimran Singh, Secretary Davinderpal Singh and Advisor Prashant Vohra said that in today’s world where science is advancing day by day, new experiments are being made by tampering the laws of nature. Millions of trees, shrubs and forests are being felled every day in the name of progress, this is the reason why new diseases cropping up, wind and water are getting polluted, the amount of oxygen in the air is also decreasing. If we ignore the laws of nature and act against nature then it will surely take its revenge, they added.
They said that progress is necessary, experiments are also necessary for growth but nature should not be tampered in any way, plants are also very important to keep the environment clean. About 200 different types of plants including fruits, medicinal and other kinds of plants were distributed to the people today. People were also encouraged to make their contribution for keeping the environment clean.
