Achievers honored during 76th annual academic day marked at YPS, Patiala

Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, celebrated its 76th Annual Academic Day on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in the Captain Amarinder Singh auditorium of the school. The event was held to felicitate the achievers of the academic year 2024-25. The board members of YPS, Patiala, officials from Patiala District Administration, teachers and proud parents of the achiever students were present to witness the event.
Dr Balbir Singh, Cabinet Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Preneet Kaur, Lt Gen Chetinder Singh, Member YPS Board of Governors, Maj Gen TPS Waraich, Director, YPS, Mohali and Member YPS, Board of Governors, Kundan Gogia, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, were also present at the occasion. The event started on a spiritual note by lighting the lamp and Guru Vandana.
The present Head Boy, Kritik Jain and Head Girl, Renee Dhadli, presented the Senior school report. The Deputy Head Boy, Harmanmeet Singh Batra and the Deputy Head Girl, Palakdeep Kaur Brar, played a major role in conducting the event. The Junior school report was presented by Amyra Gupta and Angadveer Singh. The report showcased the hard work and achievements of students in various fields like academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.
YPS, Patiala Headmaster, Navin Kumar Dixit, addressed the gathering and congratulated all the students and the parents. The students were felicitated with the school awards, Platinum category awards in academics, medals for best performers subject-wise, sports and co-curricular activities.
Last year’s Head Boy, Mallik Arjun Ahluwalia, who is also a National topper in ISC, has won the Aitchison Yadavindrian Old Students Medal for Standing First in ISC, the Ludra medal for the Best Result in Economics(ISC), and the Gurnam Singh Memorial Medal for Best Result in ISC (Humanities).
Last year’s head girl Divroop Kaur Sandhu bagged seven awards which includes some of the most illustrious awards like Harnam Singh Bal Maths Genius Award (Senior School), Best Academic Result (Senior School), Nalagarh Medal for Best Average in Science and Maths ISC(Non-medical), Best Debater of the year (Senior School) (Rhency Debating Trophy and Dr. Karansher Sidhu Scholarship, and Round Square the King Constantine Medal for the Best Social and Community Service.
The Yadavindra Gold Medal and Dr. Karansher Sidhu Trophy & Scholarship were shared by Mallik Arjun Ahluwalia and Divroop Kaur Sandhu.
Suhani Singla won the Sardar Harmeet Singh Batra Gold medal for standing first in ISC(Commerce).
Parvaaz Singh Saharan won the Gurnam Singh Memorial medal for Best Result in ISC (Medical).
Krishiv Bansal, District topper (ICSE), was felicitated with three most prestigious awards, Aitchison Yadavindra Old Boys Medal for Standing First (ICSE) & Dr. Karansher Sidhu Scholarship, and Prem Singh Batra Medal for Best Average in Science & Maths (ICSE).
The Best All-Round Student Trophy of Junior School was won by Inaara Kaur Jagirdar. The Champion House Cup for the Best All-Round House was won by Phulkian House.
The chief guest, Dr Balbir Singh, congratulated all the young achievers. He applauded the efforts put in by the teachers and the students in the successful conduct of the event.
A musical presentation and a vibrant and energetic dance mesmerized the audience with their performance. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem.
