AIIMS Bathinda Observed World Heart Day 2025

Under the guidance of the Executive Director, Prof (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, and with the support of the Medical Superintendent, Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Kumar, and Dean Academics, Prof. (Dr.) Akhilesh Pathak, AIIMS Bathinda, the Department of Cardiology, led by Prof. & Head Dr. Bhupinder Singh, along with Dr. Suraj Kumar, Dr. Tejinder S Malhi, and the Dept. of CTVS led by Prof. & Head Dr. Rajiv Kumar, along with Dr. Dilrag Dhindsa, observed World Heart Day 2025. The celebration, themed “DON’T MISS A BEAT,” emphasized public education and proactive cardiovascular care through several activities.
The event provided Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training to over 100 volunteers, which included police officials, patient attendants, and staff, highlighting the importance of public CPR in emergency situations (out-of-hospital cardiac arrest). Kiosks were set up to conduct cardiovascular risk assessments for over 200 visitors in the outpatient area.
During the event, Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Gupta highlighted the crucial role of prevention, risk stratification, and widespread CPR training to improve the outcome of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The Medical Superintendent, Prof. (Dr.) Kumar reinforced the commitment to continuing these valuable community health events.
